The Senior Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Foyer Foundation and our partners to collect, utilise and learn from data to strengthen our decision making, enhance the effectiveness of our strategies and initiate systemic change. This role involves a significant responsibility and offers a unique opportunity to leverage data analysis skills in a meaningful way, contributing to the success and impact of our organisation.

This role involves comprehensive data analysis, capacity building, systems development and data management. The Senior Analyst will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the Organisation.

Who you are (essential):

  • You are a qualified professional with a relevant tertiary qualification and / or specialised training in a field with an emphasis on quantitative methods. This might include but is not limited to, economics, social science, statistics, or computer science.
  • You are someone with an understanding and capacity to quickly learn about the needs of the not-for-profit sector, community services and the reporting needs and expectations of funders and the government.
  • You have a strong understanding of data governance practices in an Australian not-for-profit context.
  • You are someone who has experience in extracting, merging, cleaning, transforming, analysing and visualising quantitative data using tools such as Google Cloud Platform, Python, SQL and/or Power BI.
  • You have the ability to utilise data visualisation tools to help illustrate the analysis of data, whilst making it understandable for all stakeholders.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as with suppliers and services providers.
  • You enjoy learning and staying informed about industry-specific standards and developments.
  • You are someone who has the ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a team to achieve team and organisational goals.
  • You have the ability to analyse complex data sets, and derive meaningful insights from such information.
  • You believe every young person deserves a thriving future.
  • You respect and value the perspectives of young people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness, and are prepared to work effectively with young people and create the space for them to lead.
  • You have a meticulous sense of attention to detail and consider yourself to be highly process and procedure driven.
  • You are proactive and resourceful with an ability to problem solve, show initiative, and work independently to service the organisation.

Who you might be (desirable but not essential):

  • You have experience working in a not-for-profit, social enterprise or start up environment.
  • You have exposure to or experience in working as a Senior Analyst or similar role.

What we do:

The Foyer Foundation is the central connector that enables young people, organisations and investors across Australia to work together towards our common goal: aligning activities, gathering evidence and insights, ensuring quality services, and driving advocacy efforts.

For Agencies - Our role includes managing the community of practice for accredited Foyers, ensuring fidelity to the Foyer approach, while fostering innovation based on evidence, collaboration, and the sharing of practice expertise. We pioneer innovative approaches in Foyer practice and service development, staying at the forefront of cutting-edge thinking. We provide capacity building support and grant access to valuable tools that enhance the delivery of best practices within Foyers.

For Government and Donors - We offer support in mobilising funding for the construction and operation of new Foyers and facilitate the alignment of local, regional, and national funding initiatives targeting better outcomes for service-connected young people. We actively engage in research and policy development to drive positive outcomes for service-connected young people. Our commitment includes establishing nationally consistent processes for improving quality, including accreditation and monitoring for individual Foyers.
