Shepparton Retirement Villages (SRV) is a not-for-profit community based largest provider of aged care services in Shepparton region. SRV is responsible for the delivery of care across 343 residential aged care beds, 272 independent living units and 50 aged care packages.

About the Role

Shepparton Retirement Villages has an exciting opportunity for a Support Services Coordinator to have oversight of our food and domestic services. We are continuing to grow as a team and are seeking someone with outstanding customer service, a can-do attitude who is keen to learn and grow.

The position will report to the Facility Manager but will have a strong working relationship with the Catering Manager and other staff across the organisation. The role is Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm with a requirement to work one weekend per month (swapping out of Mon-Fri days).

This position is responsible for all aspects of managing the daily operations of the support services within designated facility (Mooroopna place).

Food Services:

  • Training and Supervision of Servery staff in the requirements of food preparation, service delivery and food presentation.
  • Ensure food heating logs are recorded in accordance with Food Safety regulations.
  • Focus on customer service when serving meals to residents
  • Ensure appropriate volume of food is available for resident meals.
  • Ensure residents’ dining rooms are appropriately maintained (tables set correctly) to provide a high-level dining experience for residents.
  • Wastage and shortage reports are maintained with a communication link back to Catering Manager.
  • Resident complaints and concerns are logged and satisfactorily resolved.
  • Ensure servery are well versed in texture modified diets.
  • Other food service tasks as required.

Laundry Services:

  • Ensure all resident personal linen is labelled with resident’s name.
  • Manage laundry staff to ensure a smooth operation of resident’s personal laundry.
  • Liaise with external laundry provider on all aspects of linen services.

Cleaning Services:

  • Ensure staff provide a high standard of cleaning for resident rooms, ensuites and public areas.
  • Ensure infection control measures are effectively implemented.

Key Selection Criteria

  • A high level of interpersonal communication skills, including active listening
  • Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to work autonomously when required
  • Ability to build rapport, negotiate and maintain effective relations with key stakeholders and balance multiple demands
  • Ability to manage conflicting time pressures and prioritise appropriately
  • Ability to influence and persuade others in a proactive manner that builds successful relationships
  • Ability to problem-solve medium level of complexity issues and know when is appropriate to escalate

Desirable:

  • Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated compliance with Workplace Regulations, Australian Standards, Infection Control, Health & Safety and relevant industry standards including Food Safety Plans
  • Accredited Food Safety Supervisor’s Certificate
  • Working knowledge of the Aged Care Act and accreditation requirements
  • Food handling certificate
