Sydney Multicultural Community Services is seeking an experienced bus driver with a friendly, caring and flexible attitude for casual work. In this role you will provide assistance to our Frail Aged Day Care program. Transport for frail aged and dementia clients to and from the centre is provided by the program with Sydney MCS's buses that are wheelchair accessible. Drivers are supported by our in-house team who manage the day-to-day processes alongside team on bus.
Essential Licenses and Registrations for this role are:
- You will hold a Class LR Licence and experience driving a 21-seater or larger bus is essential.
- You will also require NSW Bus Driver Authority, with willingness to undertake a driving assessment.
- No ‘at fault’ accidents within the last five years (Proof of Online Driving Record)
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Police Check
This role would suit someone:
- Will have responsibility for providing safe and supportive transport for our frail aged.
- To monitor the safety and well-being of clients on group outings or activities, provide active companionship to these clients, and assist clients on and off the bus.
- Able to assist with vehicle cleaning as well as identifying when maintenance or repair is required.
- Committed to maintaining a safe and reliable vehicle.
- A positive attitude that is committed to the values of SMCS
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to build rapport with frail elderly, people with disability.
- High level punctuality, organization and personal integrity
- Possess and display positive cultural awareness and sensitivity at all times
- Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate change and respond effectively
Desirable Criteria:
- Bi/multi-lingual or from a CALD background.
- Previous experience in working in a community
