We are seeking an experienced community support worker to join the St Mary’s House of Welcome Homelessness team. This new service on Saturdays has created an opportunity for a Wellbeing & Safety Worker to ensure the highest standards of service delivery are achieved through liaising with SMHOW staff and volunteers. The position is responsible for assisting in the prevention and management of service user/participant-initiated aggression or violence across SMHOW services. Reporting to the Team Leader this key role will help ensure there is a safe and welcoming environment for service user/participants, volunteers and staff.
The Wellbeing & Safety Worker will ensure the highest standards of service delivery are achieved through liaising with SMHOW staff, volunteers and visiting services. The position is responsible for assisting in the prevention and management of service user/participant-initiated aggression or violence across SMHOW services. The Wellbeing & Safety Worker works as part of the Community support team to help ensure there is a safe and welcoming environment for service user/participants, volunteers and staff.
Our Homelessness team work collaboratively to provide a safe and supportive environment for service users, volunteers and staff. They actively engage in risk assessments and referrals specific to the individual need of the client.
Relevant tertiary qualifications (Certificate IV or above).
