The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Direct Marketing Manager, Retention to join our organisation. Reporting to the National Manager, Supporter Retention and Development and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role is responsible for executing end-to-end direct marketing activities that retain, engage and deliver value back to supporters.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • The day-to-day management of agencies/supplier and internal stakeholders to achieve goals
  • Scheduling to ensure activity meets objectives, key dates and budget
  • Writing project and activity briefs (creative, print and production, eDM, data)
  • Driving creative and copy development aspects of campaigns
  • Checking direct mail data and quality checking all lives prior to final sign off
  • Managing and reconciling relevant budget trackers to ensure each campaign operates within planned expense targets
  • Contributing to fundraising and marketing strategies and plans with internal and external teams

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in fundraising, marketing or a related field
  • Five or more years’ experience in a marketing, advertising or communications role
  • Strong project management time management and organisational skills
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of direct marketing campaigns
  • Experience in third party suppliers’ management
