We are seeking an experienced Family Partnerships Coordinator to join our family. Reporting to the Team Leader and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will support students and their families on the Learning for Life scholarship Program. The role will involve planning and implementing The Smith Family Scholarships on a refererral base as well as on going support throughout the student's education, utilising a family-led practice approach to support stronger educational outcomes for primary and secondary school students.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Work closely with the community and from our local schools to support our mission of educational program implementation, education support, education opportunities and career path programs for the Learning for Life recipients.
  • Work/life balance with flexible wokring arrangements with an Office/School based priority approach.
  • Taking a family-led practice approach to maximise school attendance and support key transitions
  • Contacting scholarship families to inform them about programs being delivered and inviting them to participate
  • Liasing with identified schools and Principles to keep them up to date on progress of students referred to the Learning for Life program.
  • Enhancing relationships with key people in schools to positively impact on attendance and school completion rates.
  • Ensuring excellent database management and administration support for scholarship students.
  • Referring families to other services and linking them with appropriate supports.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining relevant partnerships and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse families using a family led practice approach.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting families through challenging situations.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills (including computer literacy, data entry, maintaining family file notes and time management).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in supporting families through referrals to community agencies and local partners.
  • A Valid Working with Children Check, Police Check and current Driver's License are a requirement of the role.
  • Experience working for a social purpose organisation is desirable.
  • Capability and knowledge on how to support families and the LFL Students in sensitive situations, with their social and emotinoal wellbeing and referring the family to the appropriate support networks in our community.
