The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst, Growing Careers Project to join our organisation. Reporting to the Project Manager, Growing Careers Project and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will support budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting, partnering with various functional areas to add value to different projects through financial modelling and analysis, and preparing reports to be presented to key decision makers.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Administration of financial aspects relating to government funded programs including Growing Careers Project.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of all financial reporting aspects relating to all government funded programs.
  • Monthly review of expenditure and revenue recognition.
  • Provide analysis, insight and support to the Program Managers, National Managers and GCP Operations team.
  • Facilitate internal audit process of Growing Careers Project.
  • Systems support including development and continual improvement of reporting systems, analysis and management information.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or other relative areas
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, superior presentation and report writing skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and related technologies (exposure in D365 will be an added advantage)
  • Strong time management with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
