As we lead up to our Centenary, it’s an exciting time to be joining our family. We are currently seeking a Lead Facilitator to help us achieve The Smith Family’s vision.

Reporting to the Acting General Manager - TAS and working with a dedicated, energised, and passionate team in a fast-paced environment, the Lead Facilitator will deliver multiple programs and activities throughout Term time as required in a constructive, informative manner conducive to encouraging learning and engagement. This role sits within the SA Operations team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of program sessions and local schools’ knowledge and practices.

A day in the life of a Lead Facilitator might look like this, but every day will be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide high quality instruction of established programs and activities by using program content (and digital technology) to deliver to school students in both primary and secondary schools (70% of the role)
  • Be prepared and confident to deliver sessions according to program requirements and using provided resources in a manner that is inclusive, empowering and responsive to student diverse learning needs, aiming to maximise engagement and completion
  • Responsible for assisting Operational team (Regional Program Manager, Team Leaders and Program Coordinators) as well as National team (Program Managers/Coordinators) with the coordination of casual facilitators workload to deliver in-school Primary and Secondary programs and career and transition programs
  • Supervise, coach and support the local pool of casual facilitators as required
  • Assist Program Facilitator Manager (PFM, in Program Implementation) with assessing new job applications, phone screens, setting up interviews and referee checks
  • Involvement in projects such as best practice in child protection, working positively with children and students, First Nations cultural awareness, school/teacher expectations, CALD student needs and students’ voice.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education or Social Sciences
  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to undergo check
  • Demonstrated experience delivering or facilitating training to children and/or young people
  • Genuine passion and drive to make a positive difference to the educational and life opportunities of students
  • Experience in successfully coordinating people and activities remotely, including building and maintaining relationships and providing feedback.
