The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking a Programs Coordinator to join our organisation. Reporting to the Regional Programs Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will work with schools and facilitators to deliver educational programs to students in primary schools and high schools in Darwin and Palmerston, Darwin, NT. This purposeful and busy role will enable disadvantaged students to first rate learning opportunities.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying the needs of schools and community to determine program fit.
  • Delivery and administration of high-quality programs from the Learning for Life Suite in partner schools and the local community.
  • Maintain program participation numbers to agreed targets. This includes an increased engagement of Learning for Life scholarship students in programs.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered into database in a timely manner.
  • Participate in relevant program and process improvement teams, as required.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating programs / projects/events
  • Demonstrated experience in administration
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting and facilitating
  • Hold a current drivers licence
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check
