The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking a Programs Coordinator to join our organisation. Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning for Life and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will coordinate the delivery of the Learning for Life suite of programs, including the building and maintenance of key school partnerships to help us achieve The Smith Family’s vision. This role focuses on achieving stronger educational outcomes for students who participate in our programs and to contribute to stronger school attendance and Year 12 attainment as a result. With a reasonable administrative component, this role plans and implements programs within a defined geography.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying the needs of schools and community to determine program fit.
  • Facilitate the delivery and administration of appropriate programs from the Learning for Life Suite in partner schools and the local community.
  • Maintain program participation numbers to agreed targets. This includes an increased engagement of Learning for Life scholarship students in programs.
  • Maintain program fidelity throughout the course of implementation.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered into database in a timely manner.
  • Participate in relevant program and process improvement teams, as required.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating programs or projects.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships.
  • Excellent administrative skills including computer literacy, data and time management.
  • High level communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Hold a current drivers licence.
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check.
