Senior Front-End Developer - Flexible Location

The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking a Front-End Developer to join our organisation. Reporting to the Digital Platform Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members in our Agile Squads, this role will be responsible for the implementation of technology-enabled business logic to meet The Smith Family’s business goals and objectives, document application architecture and solution design, review UX and technical designs and develop and implement front-end component.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Enhancing and improving front-end development related processes and frameworks.
  • Analysing potential solutions and determine which is most efficient to meet the requirements of the request.
  • Reviewing and producing technical, solution and application architecture specifications.
  • Implementing new functionality using out-of-the-box facilities of Sitecore CMS, and other systems, and add extensions using scripting languages; build custom solutions where out-of-the-box is not sufficient.
  • Performing code reviews from quality and security perspectives working collaboratively with Agile team members to deliver backlog commitments and support project delivery.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information technology
  • 5+ years in front-end development using HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery/JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with Vue.js, React or Angular.
  • Experience with Tailwind development.
  • Experience in responsive design/development using frameworks such as Bootstrap.
  • Experience working on CMS based platforms, Sitecore will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong relationship building skills to engage with stakeholders across the organisation.
