ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Classified as Level 4.1 or 5.1 SAC depending on applicants experience.
  • Part time or Full time role, negotiable (minimum of 4 days per week.)

Our members are the lifeblood of our peak NFP, and we want your excellent organisational and administrative skills to help our organisation continue to make real impact for Aboriginal communities in WA, and reform the justice system!

Reporting to the People & Business Manager, the Memberships & Organisational Support Officer will be the first point of contact SRWA members and for those engaging with the SRWA team. You will be responsible for the coordinating support for member organisations, and our office services and procedures including, the handling of correspondence, administrative tasks as required, minute taking and supporting logistics for SRWA events and campaigns. You will also provide executive support to the CEO. You will be expected to provide project support to both the Campaign and Justice Reinvestment teams on an ad hoc basis, as capacity allows.

Applicants with a desire for agency, and to work in a highly collaborative, values based team are strongly encouraged. Outstanding organisational skills, and highly developed written and verbal communication skills are essential. An existing knowledge of SRWA and a passion for justice reform and racial and social equality, and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are highly welcome.

Social Reinvestment WA is a member based peak not for profit organisation, led by an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander majority Board. We aim to end the mass criminalisation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Western Australia’s justice and legal systems; and to create a fair, humane, and more truly just Western Australia for all people.

  • Development of evidence-based policy, research, and smart solutions that can systemically improve outcomes across the justice system;
  • Building and maintaining a strong movement and adequate resources to support and sustain effective positive change for the long term.

  • Annual Pay increases in line with indexation
  • A 37.5 hour week, as opposed to a standard 38 hour work week.
  • An additional 5 days paid leave over the Christmas shut down.
  • 2 additional days of leave as mental wellbeing day.
  • 1 additional public holiday in line with Aboriginal Peoples Day as determined by NAIDOC
  • No Gap Parental Leave Top Up Payments for 4 weeks
  • Pro rata Long Service Leave after 6 years of continuous services.
