About the role
The Independent Living Coordinator, will directly lead the delivery of services by a team of Disability Support Workers (DSW’s) and Team Leaders to deliver high quality services to NDIS participants to meet their needs and expectations. These services must also be aligned to organisational, service, and individual participant goals.
Core duties may include but are not limited to:
- Support participant expectations, track feedback and implement positive changes
- Support NDIS participants to build capacity to coordinate their NDIS plans, negotiate appropriate support and services
- Work with the Manager Supported Independent Living to support new SIL Participants with the onboarding process, consulting with internal and external key personnel to ensure a positive Participant experience
- Coordination of daily operations across allocated SIL houses including Community Access & Irregular supports
- Ensure support workers and team leaders are trained to complete all duties as required and to ensure that a process is established for effective Participant support in accordance with Schedule of Supports or Individual Care Plan
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to manage the delivery of services to participants and exceed participant service expectations
- Financial skills including budgeting and monitoring performance
- Demonstrated experience with and/or knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Demonstrated understanding of (and experience working with) contemporary theoretical and practice frameworks in an area of service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in applying human resource management strategies with strong leadership skills and
- Demonstrated experience in managing a small/medium team.
- Ability to implement change and improvements to work practices.
Desirable Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in business, human services or other relevant field or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in the not for profit sector, or a demonstrated appreciation and understanding of community-based organisations.
