SPELD Victoria is a Not for Profit (PBI) registered charity which commenced in 1969. SPELD Victoria provides information and services to children, young people and adults with Specific Learning Disorders and works closely with the Department of Education to ensure all students enjoy their schooling and succeed academically.

We are offering an opportunity to someone seeking full time or part time work.

This position is responsible for the coordination, professional development, parent workshops and events. There may be some events out of hours or offsite workshops.

Responsibilities include:

Administration and Organisational Support:

  • Updating website content and social media in line with PL calendar and marketing plan
  • Administrative processes and organisation of the Professional Learning and Parent events
  • Liaison with all management, staff, contractors/consultants, volunteers and others as required
  • Responding to event-related phone and email enquiries in a timely manner
  • Preparation and distribution of reports related to event feedback and identify implications for future planning
  • Assist as required with the online book shop, specifically the processing of orders
  • Customer service, front of house duties and reception duties from time to time as required
  • General administrative and ad hoc duties as required in a small diverse organisation
  • Other duties as negotiated with the CEO or PL, TL

Customer Service:

  • Provide support to the SPELD community as required
  • Ensures services and communication with internal and external customers is of a high standard

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or previous experience in event planning and coordination
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in digital marketing
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs
  • Ability to operate as a member of a team or independently when required
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
  • Capacity to meet deadlines and respond to issues arising in a flexible and calm manner

Desirable:

  • Experience using customer service management systems
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, learning difficulties and/or literacy and numeracy acquisition

This appointment is subject to:

  • Working with Children (WWC) Check
  • National Police Check
  • Covid vaccinated at least 3 times
  • Willingness to sign the organisations Code of Conduct
