About the Role

The SafePath program is focused on providing a safe, dignity-driven, and culturally responsive approach to victim survivors who have been subjected to sexual violence. The program sits within our Practice Management Unit team who have been developing capacity within SSI to provide a trauma informed, confidential response to ensure victim survivors receive safe evidence informed response to minimise risk and receive support for recovery.

About You

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Team Leader who has experience working in the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) field with multicultural and CALD communities, especially specifically with sexual violence.

You will play a critical role in developing a training package and response tools for staff responding to sexual violence victim survivors, including children and young people.

This is a hands-on position developing e-learning modules and policy/procedures in DFSV as well as coordinating training from external providers. Working closely with frontline staff and caseworkers, you will be skilled in providing trauma informed and culturally responsive training.

Leading a small team of two, you will have demonstrated success in overseeing projects and performance and consider yourself a highly skilled communicator with the ability to drive program outcomes.

This is a Maternity leave contract for 8 months, there is flexibility in terms of location for the role, interstate applicants would be considered.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience providing training to frontline staff, case workers from multicultural and multifaith backgrounds.
  • Background in working in the domestic, family and sexual violence fields.
  • Skills in providing trauma informed, culturally responsive and evidence informed training.
  • Essential to have knowledge in the DFSV field – especially sexual violence.
  • Experience in providing management and oversight and support to a small team.
  • High level written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical skills supported by solid professional judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related field
