At St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation – (SSMRF) we are seeking a passionate, experienced and enthusiastic Fundraising and Event Manager who will be responsible for growing the brand and revenue capacity.

This role can be full-time, or a part-time where YOU can grow and make a difference.

ABOUT US

St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation (SSMRF) is a not-for-profit charity that funds vital medical research across both St George and Sutherland hospitals, our aim is to enrich the healthcare of the community through the enhancement of medical research at St George and Sutherland Hospitals.

SSMRF raises funds to provide competitive medical research grants to researchers in St George and Sutherland Hospitals. The recommendation for the award of these grants follows a very rigorous process conducted by an independent Research Committee.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the CEO, the Fundraising and Event Manager will be responsible for growing the brand and revenue capacity of SSMRF. This is achieved through strategic planning and further develop existing fundraising campaigns and events as well as search for new audiences through new revenue streams to increase the supporter base, drive donor income and build long-term donor relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, develop and implement a thorough Fundraising Strategy which sets clearly defined financial goals and outcomes for SSMRF.
  • Keep abreast of industry best-practice to ensure the SSMRF Fundraising Strategy remains relevant and competitive.
  • Develop and manage a formal Bequests Program.
  • Manage existing events, Beachside Dash, Golf Day and End of Year function, budget and plan for future events. Engage volunteer support.
  • Drive a Regular Giving Program and use this as a vehicle for attracting new supporters to SSMRF.
  • Build a strong rapport with the SSMRF Board, staff, and long-standing donors and researchers.
  • Oversee relationships with creative agencies and contributors.
  • Maintain connection to existing corporate partners and sponsors.
  • Identify, research, attract, and secure new sponsors and partners.
  • Establish SSMRF as a reputable, innovative, and thought leader in its field.
  • Oversee Social Media presence in alignment with the SSMRF Digital Strategy.
  • Maintain CRM

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Fundraising targets, supporter retention, brand awareness and successful Event deliverables

ABOUT YOU – SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in fundraising, event management or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience and demonstrated success at a management level
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising and/or marketing strategies.
  • Proven ability to meet fundraising targets, along with creating and developing new opportunities.
  • Demonstrated project management, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Strong relationship, networking, and communication skills.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience in Customer Relationship Management – preferred Raiser’s Edge NXT, or similar
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • National Police check.
  • Evidence - Covid Vaccination status
