An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Community Engagement Officer to join their welcoming and supportive team in Cairns to develop current and future programs, services and events through strong stakeholder relationship management.

The Position

Reporting to the Business Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver optimal targeted program and service participation across all STEPS entities and secure STEPS' local market position for current and future sustainability.
  • Undertake relationship building activities to ensure all program delivery opportunities are maximised and specific program targets are met.
  • Business development including cold calling, email marketing and attending community, industry events and proactively manage marketing enquiries.
  • Demonstrate creative and innovative solutions in converting new business opportunities to placements.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the local employment market.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this opportunity you must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience and knowledge of Disability Services, Community Services and Training Programs are highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to liaise with a diverse range of people.
  • Confident business development and networking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success and experience in a similar business development or sales role.
  • Applicants must also have the ability to complete a police check, hold a Working with Children's Blue Card and have a current driver's licence.
