St George Community (SGC) is a government-funded, not-for-profit organisation that provides safe and reliable transport, social outings, access to physical and mental health and wellbeing activities, one-on-one support for NDIS participants and a volunteer home visiting program to clients living in the St George area and South-East Sydney.

This is an opportunity to support the organisation as it continues to expand its services to meet the needs of its community members and facilitate a good quality of life, strong connections, and independence for its clients.

You will be part of the Board and its Sub-Committees to provide strategic guidance, overseeing the continuous evaluation of our practices, while maintaining financial viability and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will guide us in managing risks, maintaining excellent service standards, and upholding legal and industry standards.

The role is responsible for the governance of the organisation to ensure there are systems in place to support the workforce and provide safe, high-quality care as part of a holistic approach to aged care and disability that is based on the needs, goals and preferences of all clients.

The right applicant will:

  • Lead governance efforts to ensure resources meet client demands across all services.
  • Clinical qualifications and experience working as a Clinician or similar role
  • Maintain financial viability and manage risks to deliver safe and reliable services.
  • Provide clinical oversight for services requiring clinical and personal care.
  • Collaborate with fellow Board members to drive effective decision-making.
  • Demonstrate experience leading a team and working as part of a committee.

Formal qualifications in business or a clinical discipline and work experience in operating in the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.

The Board and Board Sub-Committees meet bi-monthly and regular attendance is necessary.
