The opportunity

This is an exciting new role, aimed at developing and implementing a fundraising program for St John NT to support its volunteers and community initiatives. The program may include donor acquisition, appeals, major gifts and bequests and will leverage off St John NT’s high level of trust and solid reputation within community.

The position is part of the Marketing and Communication team and will work closely with the CEO, St John NT Board and Endowment Trust as well as external key stakeholders to develop opportunities for financial support for the organisation in line with its strategic plan.

The person

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in establishing a fundraising function. You will have a passion for the not-for-profit sector and an astute understanding of the opportunities that are available to raise funds for a Northern Territory based organisation. You will be driven by identifying strategic solutions, building beneficial partnerships and delivering results.

Ideally you will have:

• 5 to 10 years successful experience working as a fundraising manager or similar position.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies, including relationship and stakeholder management, and engagement.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write meaningful marketing/fundraising copy and business cases.
• A positive can-do attitude.
• Tertiary qualifications in business, leadership and/or management.
