About the Service:

Head to Health Launceston is an innovative mental health service funded by Primary Health Tasmania, providing a one-stop hub and mental health support for people aged 18 years and older.

Role Overview:

The Mental Health Practitioner is key to service delivery within Head to Health and will:

  • Deliver short- to medium-term, evidence-based, best-practice interventions and conduct group work, comprehensive assessments, and care plans for people 18 years of age and over
  • Work collaboratively in service delivery, planning, and development
  • Participate in clinical review and quality-assurance processes
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of community partnerships with external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Mental health-related degree (e.g. psychology, social work, counselling) and related registration along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the relevant field
  • Knowledge and experience in the provision of clinical mental health assessment and evidence-based interventions
  • Proven judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding assessment and care planning
  • Sound understating of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting
  • Demonstrated computer skills and ability to maintain clinical records
  • Proven understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality
  • Positive, solution-focused attitude with commitment to positively participate in service improvement activities and personal clinical growth
  • Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWVP
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
