As a Renewable Energy Analyst, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent outcomes to Stride’s clients, which include many leading renewable energy companies. Responsibilities

As a Renewable Energy Analyst you will have a broad remit that touches many aspects of the renewable energy sector, allowing Stride to provide high-quality advice to its clients, which includes many leading renewable energy companies.

Your tasks may include:

  • Technical and/or commercial analysis of a project within the wider energy market context
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders to discuss and clarify project details and requirements
  • Participating in discovery and analysis activities to ensure we understand and are solving the right problem
  • Assisting in the preparation of business documents and materials e.g. business cases, project plans, reports, presentations, figures and graphics
  • Assist clients in securing government support through competitive processes such as energy auctions, grants and development programs by coordinating tender submissions and helping clients position their project in line with the tender priorities
  • Support clients to understand government and the renewables market by coordinating stakeholder mapping, briefings, updates, introductions and training
  • Analysis and incorporation of expert advice from third parties on matters such as biodiversity, cultural heritage and electrical constraints
  • GIS mapping of Australia’s electricity system and our clients’ projects
  • Conduct research and gather information using tools like spreadsheets, databases, and statistical software to provide insights for client projects and support decision making, problem solving and knowledge creation
  • Maintaining a strong working relationship with team members across Stride’s various business areas to allow understanding of their objectives and needs

About you

As a Renewable Energy Analyst, you will develop and demonstrate:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to present technical information to general audiences in a visually appealing and compelling way
  • Proven active-listening skills, with a capacity to understand client and stakeholder needs, provide constructive feedback and build professional relationships
  • Excellent organisation and coordination skills, with ability to work at speed in a demanding environment
  • Ability to analyse issues and develop viable options to solve problems and address challenges
  • Emerging knowledge of the renewable energy industry

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences, both internal and external customers
  • Commitment to collaborating with clients to progress projects that will reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the renewable energy transition
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-discipline teams
  • The ability to rapidly learn new systems, processes and apply this knowledge
  • Proficient in data gathering and analysis, modelling, and visualisation tools (for example Microsoft Suite, GIS, Python)
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge of renewable energy technologies, policies, trends, and challenges
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with multiple stakeholders and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate business opportunities and risks in the renewable energy market
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required by project needs
  • Commitment to, and enthusiasm for, client service and delivery

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in a consulting business
  • NSW location preferred, although applications from other states will be considered

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or commerce, environmental science, business administration, or other related field (or equivalent experience).
