ABOUT US

STTARS is a non-government, not for profit organisation who have been operating in South Australia since 1991. STTARS has no political or religious affiliations.

STTARS provides counselling and support services to people from refugee and migrant backgrounds who have experienced torture or been traumatised as a result of persecution, violence, war or unlawful imprisonment prior to arrival in Australia.

We are currently looking for highly experienced Groups Administrator/Facilitator for the STTARS Community Development, Allied Health and Therapeutic Groups programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Groups Administrator/Facilitator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of allocated projects within the program. This includes providing high-level administrative support, monitoring program outputs, managing contractual requirements, and liaising with key stakeholders.

Your role will involve ensuring that effective processes are embedded to support the program's objectives and goals, enhancing the overall impact on the communities served.

This position is responsible for administrative project support, assisting in the running of groups alongside the lead Group Facilitator, and training and support of a pool of Bi-Cultural Facilitators and volunteers required for the allocated projects.

The position is well suited to a candidate with strong administrative, group facilitation and adult education skills, as well as having excellent cultural sensitivity and experience working with people from CALD backgrounds.

AS THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE ROLE YOU WILL:

  • A mental health qualification of Certificate IV level or above (equivalent Human Services or Community Services)
  • Experience in program administration, developing procedures, and overseeing program objectives through data collection and collation.
  • Be a confident Administrator/Facilitator skilled at working with CALD communities and groups, who is passionate about mental health/trauma recovery for people from refugee background.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Ability to work from various work locations as required.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Part-time 0.8 FTE, fixed term contract to 30 June 2025
  • Salary is based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) 2010 - Level 4.
