YOUR ROLE

As the Administration Assistant at Frederic House you will be the first point of contact on the reception desk for clients, visitors and stakeholders of the Frederic House and will be the liaison for all centre administrative and reception requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Telephone and reception duties and frontline intake of clients.
  • Clerical and administration duties, including:
  • Data and statistic collation
  • Maintenance and filing of client files
  • Appointment scheduling for all services and programs at the facility
  • Management of facility diary for room bookings, staff movements and programs
  • Administration of facility and client mail, including in electronic and paper
  • Coordination of minute taking, stationery maintenance and distribution lists
  • Attend regular team meetings
  • Attend training pertinent to role
  • Handling of petty cash and processing of resident’s fees.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for members, staff and volunteers by implementing the Society’s workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ensure that effective risk management protocols and procedures are in place to ensure compliance with legal, employment and governance requirements.

YOU WILL NEED

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated office administration skills.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of the Aged Care Act 1997.
  • Broad knowledge of Aged Care Accreditation Standards, their application and the Accreditation process.
  • Understanding of resident rights in the context of Aged Care sector.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control principles.
  • Capacity to relate compassionately and in a meaningful manner with men who have been homeless and who may suffer disabling mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Ability to work within a diverse working environment, reporting to and working alongside staff and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act.
  • Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a National Police check, International Police check a current NSW Working with Children Check (Employee), and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
