Your Role

As the Migrant Settlement Worker you will be responsible for implementing the Settlement and Engagement Transition Service Program, to equip and empower eligible permanent migrants and their communities to address their settlement needs. 

Your Responsibility

  • Deliver high quality services in a timely manner, including mandatory reporting to the Department of Social Services and SVDP. 
  • Conduct promotional activities of SETs and NCSS programs so that clients become aware of mainstream services and are comfortable attending relevant groups. 
  • Establish and maintain links and partnerships with key service providers, community organisations and agencies that provide information and assistance to the target group. 
  • Ensure appropriate records are kept covering clients, services provided, telephone queries and group-work as per DSS and SVDP reporting requirements. 
  • Address client needs through casework and targeted group sessions that align with the nine priority areas identified in the National Settlement Framework to equip clients with settlement life skills to operate independently within the wider community. 

You Will Need 

  • Relevant qualification and/or substantial experience in related field 
  • Demonstrated high level casework and program management skills 
  • Experience working with culturally diverse and/or vulnerable clients, 
  • Demonstrated capacity to plan and deliver Community Capacity Building activities. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain functional relationships with key stakeholders
