Your Role

The Grants Advisor role is permanent, part-time 30 hours per week, based home and Lewisham 2049. The primary objective of this role is to identify opportunities for revenue generation through grant applications and private and philanthropic trusts that align with the Society’s objectives. The role involves research work, communicating with internal stakeholders and funding bodies, preparing well-written submissions. The candidate that best fits this role will have a good track record in research, grants preparation, understanding of social impact and highly effective communication skills.

Your Responsibility

  • Conduct research – this will involve in-depth discussions with internal stakeholders to be able to draw relevant information that are vital to preparing grants and proposals for trust, foundations and Government tenders.
  • Prepare submissions that are comprehensive and meaningful, clearly identifying their benefits and long-term impact to vulnerable people and communities that the Society assist.
  • Ensure high-level funding submissions meet all application criteria and high quality of work that will increase success rate.
  • Coordinate and administer funding submissions in line with the Society’s key objectives.
  • Work closely with service delivery teams, Conference volunteers,  as well as property and finance to seek funding that aligns to the Society’s Strategic Plan.
  • Improve the Grants Team’s efficiencies, through improving grants records management, streamlining the application and acquittals process, so that we work collaboratively as one Society and meet funder’s expectations.

You Will Need

  • Relevant tertiary qualification/s in communication and/or experience in research and professional writing.
  • Demonstrated ability and expertise in writing grant submissions proven success in obtaining funding from grants and philanthropic activities, and the acquittal / impact report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability in project and operational management and effective implementation of initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience using third-party submission systems like Smartygrants and records management in the Society’s own database - Dynamics CRM.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
