Your Role

As the Team Leader - MetroThe Team Leader, Metro, will provide operational support and guidance to the Vinnies Support Centre (VSC) Coordinators under the supervision of the Regional Director. The team leader will work to improve the quality and consistency of the services provided by the VSC’s to people seeking assistance.

The role is required to:

  • Provide effective support to staff and volunteers across the region to enable them to continue to fulfil the Society’s mission to provide care and support to those who are in need.
  • Build strong partnerships within Vinnies and external to Vinnies for referral of specialist services for the people we serve. 

Your Responsibility 

  • Support the Regional director to ensure the successful implementation of the Society’s Strategic Plan within the VSC team.
  • Provide supervision, and guidance to VSC Coordinators across the Metro region within MVRO
  • Foster a service culture characterised by partnership and collaboration both within the team and across the Service and other stakeholders and clients.
  • Be involved in continuous quality improvement activities e.g., accreditation, review of policies and procedures.
  • Understand budget parameters and where able, present possible strategies for improvement.
  • Provide written reports and statistics on activities as requested by the Regional Director, Vinnies Support Centres, Metro
  • Maintain and update information on client databases, supporting CAMS
  • Provide case management supports that are client focused, socially inclusive, non-judgemental and empowering - underpinned by best practice principles.
  • Document all VSC Coordinator /client interactions.
  • Support staff, members and volunteers use information gained during assessments and other relevant material to assist ongoing support of client needs. 
  • Check the work of VSC Coordinators in CAMS to ensure that staff are making the best use of Society resources and assisting the people who are most in need.
  • Support and assist clients in a way that promotes independence, empowerment and sustainable outcomes.

You Will Need: 

  • Cert 4 certificate and a minimum 5 years’ experience in a staff supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience in management positions in a human services environment, particularly with the development and delivery of outcome focused services.
  • Sound knowledge of the specific service industry requirements to support clients experiencing disadvantage.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel regularly across the Sydney Metro, visiting and supporting worksites
  • NSW driver license.
