Greens MP Sue Higginson is seeking an experienced Communications, Digital Content and Administration professional for a position in a small dynamic and dedicated team.
Applicants will be responsible for office management and administration as well as driving digital and internal communication strategies to maximise visibility and engagement with Sue’s work.
This is a unique opportunity to be in a leading team that is challenging the status quo of politics in NSW and takes on every challenge big and small. You’ll be working in a fast paced and dynamic environment that is highly responsive to the news of the day while also achieving long-term reform oriented goals.
You will be responsible for communicating to a wide range of audiences across Sue’s portfolios. Ideal candidates will have experience working in a fast-paced environment with significant experience in communications and digital platforms in order to tell powerful narratives and achieve meaningful outcomes across a broad range of issues. The role focuses on generating campaign communications, production and management of social media content, including video and digital engagement across Sue’s portfolios and office administration.
You will set targets and drive outcomes in collaboration with the team and with a high degree of autonomy while directly reporting to Sue on campaigns and materials. Sue needs you to be ready to hit the ground running, adapt quickly to changing circumstances and to be outcomes oriented.
Sue’s journey started in the old-growth forests of North East NSW as a frontline activist and her passion for protecting our precious native forests is just as strong today. She is driven by environmental and social justice.
Sue is in the NSW Parliament to drive real action on climate change, get First Nations justice, end logging our public native forests and the destruction of nature, reform the planning system, get better food and agricultural systems, challenge the economic system’s ruthless pursuit of profits over people and defend our right to protest.
As the former CEO and Principal Solicitor of the Environmental Defenders Office, Sue was responsible for challenging governments on their poor decisions, corporations for their exploiting activities and defending activists who have been caught by the creeping attacks on the democratic right to protest.
