Communications Manager - Remote / Work from Home

The Sunrise Project
  • This role can be located anywhere in Australia

About The Campaign

Australia has all the resources it needs to make the shift to clean, renewable energy. Yet, the shift isn’t happening at the pace and scale required to solve the climate crisis – and the benefits are not yet flowing to those most affected by the transformation.

Renew Australia For All is a new, people-powered collaboration backed by unions, social services, environment and climate organisations and industry. We are united in our belief that Australia must act faster to reap the benefits of the global transition to renewable energy.

Together, we are collaborating to ensure our politicians deliver the policy and investment required to:

  • Repower homes, transport and communities with cleaner, healthier, more reliable and affordable energy and improved energy efficiency,
  • Lock in secure, safe, well-paid jobs by repowering our industries and homes with renewable energy and seizing new opportunities to make things in Australia that the world needs, like green iron and aluminium,
  • Support communities to better prepare, withstand and recover from the extreme weather that climate change is already producing.
  • Future-proof the electricity grid with wind and solar supported by battery storage and a real plan to get the right renewables in the right places, with local community benefits built-in

About The Role

The Communications Manager is responsible for designing and implementing effective communications strategies, critical to achieving the collaboration’s goals.

They will engage closely with a wide variety of people across a diverse network to implement a long-term communications strategy to change the way energy transformation opportunities are spoken about in the public narrative. They will also seize rapid-response communications opportunities as they arise.

The Communications Manager will provide savvy, strategic advice to stakeholders, ensuring that the collaboration’s communications are aligned and laser-focused on its goals.

The Communications Manager will ensure the collaboration achieves outcomes that would not be possible by individual organisations acting alone.
