We currently have an excellent opportunity for you to participate in our success story. We are seeking a dedicated, passionate NDIS Appeals Advocate who is driven to help the most disadvantaged members of our community seek the support they so deserve.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Full-time 37.5 hours per week.
  • Contract until 30 June 2025

OUR PERFECT MATCH

Reporting to the Manager - Individual Disability Advocacy Services, this position is responsible for informing, advising, and advocating on NDIS Appeals issues alongside individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will develop strategic approaches to achieve individual advocacy outcomes, support their clients in seeking Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) reviews of National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) decisions, and apply for Legal Aid Commission funding and representation. You will be passionate about social justice and making a difference in the world by ensuring that our clients with disability are appropriately supported and empowered to self-advocate for their interests where possible.

You will have relevant tertiary or TAFE qualifications (e.g. Social Sciences or Human Services) and demonstrated knowledge of the NDIS Act 2013, the NDIS Rules and the recent NDIS Bill 2024. You will have a demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
