This exciting position is designed to provide both direct service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as well as networking and community engagement to increase cultural confidence in VincentCare and sits as part of the Outreach Support Services Team at the Northern Community Hub.
Key to the applicant's success will be their ability to effectively support a small caseload of primary clients and as well as caseload of clients as a secondary worker providing housing, health, wellbeing and cultural connections.
This role will create greater connection and improved cultural competency through the provision of secondary consultation to internal and external programs and by providing support and mentoring to portfolio holders as part of the Northern Community Hub's Diversity Team.
This will also be achieved by actively working to build relationships between VincentCare and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Organisations in the community. This role will also have dedicated time to support the progression of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) including supporting the RAP committee.
You are an appropriately qualified professional with experience in providing comprehensive case management, planning and support to assist clients within a homelessness setting. You have experience in maintaining constructive, empathetic, supportive and respectful working relationships particularly for an integrated service response.
Your experience and ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is second to none and has enabled you to achieve desired outcomes as defined by your clients.
