VincentCare Community Housing (VCCH) is dedicated to providing high-quality housing maintenance and tenancy services to ensure the well-being of our tenants and stakeholders. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive community, promoting social justice, and delivering person-centred services. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Housing Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of integrated housing services across Victoria.

About the Role

The Housing Manager (HM) oversees all housing maintenance and tenancy services for VincentCare Community Housing. This role ensures quality service provision to tenants and stakeholders, manages VCCH Tenancy and Property staff, and addresses complex issues. The HM will work closely with the Group CEO, Boards, and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to provide leadership and strategic direction for VCCH.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Provide strategic advice on housing in Victoria, fostering relationships with key stakeholders including government and non-government partners, promoting state initiatives, and leading community engagement efforts.
  • Lead the development and implementation of operational plans to enhance access to housing and related services, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and provide high-level advice for strategic planning.
  • Implement VCCH Strategic Directions and Business plans, developing a team culture focused on excellence, managing resources to ensure effective service delivery, addressing local housing issues and trends, and overseeing tenancy and property management.
  • Provide strategic leadership and manage staff, including developing a professional tenancy team through training, supporting innovation and professionalism, and fostering a work environment that promotes staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with values, policies, and legislative requirements by undertaking training to support compliance obligations, embedding risk management and WH&S procedures, and participating in reviews to manage potential risks.

What we are looking for;

  • Required: Degree in Social Housing, Social Science, Community Management, or related discipline.
  • Desired: Postgraduate qualifications in business management and leadership.
  • Minimum 3 years' senior management experience in property and tenancy management.
  • Knowledge of the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act.
  • Experience in organisational planning and program monitoring.
  • Ability to lead projects and manage service delivery.
  • Understanding of community housing requirements and systems.
  • Experience with external reporting in a community housing context.
  • Sensitivity to community and social housing tenants' needs.
  • Experience in managing housing assets and staff, including remote teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
