An opportunity exists for an experienced Case Manager who wants to make a positive impact in our community.
Our programs in Special Works provide support to people in need from a variety of sectors – Justice, Homelessness, Mental Health, and Education. Samaritan House is a 13 bed, crisis accommodation program committed to providing shelter, support, and resources to men experiencing homelessness in our community. The program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is located north of Canberra. Our mission is to empower those in need to regain independence and thrive in Society.
The Case Manager will work as part of a team responsible for managing the operational requirements of Samaritan House. This is a key role and is responsible for developing and maintaining case notes and case plans in a concise, professional manner.
The role aims to deliver case management services to our residents, while providing assistance as required during their time with us. During your duties you will support companions to access relevant services and accommodation options. As Case Manager, you will undertake a range of administrative functions, reporting to the Coordinator Samaritan House and working collaboratively with the Team Leader.
To succeed and thrive in this role, you will be intrinsically motivated and driven by service excellence and have a strong commitment to working with vulnerable people with complex needs.
You will have well developed communications skills along with a proactive, collaborative mindset and demonstrated resilience and a capacity to adapt to change and sometimes challenging environments. You will have a high-level understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.
A Diploma in Community Development/Sector or equivalent is required along with experience in a similar or related role. A current unrestricted Driver’s License and First Aid certificate are essential. Successful applicants will need to complete a National Police Check and either hold or obtain a Working with Vulnerable Children (WWVP) card.
