Take Two is a state-wide service providing high quality therapeutic services to children and young people who have suffered significant abuse, neglect or disrupted attachment and are clients of Child Protection. We work with the traumatised child, and with their caregivers, families and communities. We help them understand the child’s trauma, and how it’s impacting their development and behaviours.

Your Opportunity:

The Senior Speech Pathologist is a pivotal part of the Developmental Specialist Team (Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Neuropsychologist) who provide specialist consultation and assessment of our infants, children and young people.

  • Preston location, with office on Wurrundjeri Country
  • Part Time (0.6FTE), Permanent role.
  • $112K + Superannuation + $15k Salary Packaging

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Senior Speech Pathologist to join Take Two in a key leadership role, supporting the clinical team leader and contributing to the success of our programs.

In this position, you will build and maintain crucial partnerships, support the team in achieving key performance indicators, and provide secondary consultations to Take Two staff regarding the speech, language, and communication needs of infants, children, and young people.

You will also offer consultation as part of the wider Developmental Specialist Team.

The role involves conducting Speech, Language, and Communication assessments within our Intensive Therapeutic Services and Fee for Service programs, as well as providing clinical supervision to clinicians and students as needed. Additionally, you will play a vital role in the development and delivery of training for Take Two staff and external agencies, helping to ensure the continued growth and success of our services.

This role will be based primarily in the Preston office, however regular travel to Berry Street regional offices is required - travel will be supported.

Your Skills and Experience: 

  • Experienced and well appointed Speech Pathologist, with extensive experience working with young people, children and families who have experienced trauma and accompanying attachment disruptions.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective collaboration and optimal outcomes.
  • Proven experience in providing secondary consultation and mentoring others, with a strong focus on upskilling and supporting the development of colleagues.
  • A Bachelor or higher qualification in Speech Pathology and a minimum proven 3 years experience as a Speech Pathologist is required for this position.
