Art Coordinator

Tandem Partners

The Torch is a not for profit Aboriginal-led arts organisation that provides art, cultural and arts industry support to First Nations people incarcerated across Victoria.

Ahead of an exciting year with four major exhibitions and ongoing program delivery, The Torch is excited to arm themselves with more support in the areas of sales, marketing and operations. If you are passionate about supporting First Nations artists with the tools and resources to reclaim cultural connections through art and cultural practice – we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

This is a 12 month parental leave position. Our Art Coordinator will play a vital role in processing licenses, commissions and sales as well as providing collection management support of artworks created through the program. This role plays a pivotal role in the implementation of The Torch’s annual exhibition program and product development.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of First Nations art styles and a deep interest in curation. This role demands exceptional cultural competency and, importantly, seeks someone with a keen interest in identifying diverse markets for selling and placing the art produced through the program.

Perks of working at The Torch include working from a beautifully renovated heritage gallery and office space in central Carlton, a work phone and laptop, salary sacrificing available to increase your take home pay and a supportive, collaborative creative culture.
