CAYLUS started as a petrol sniffing prevention project in November 2002, in response to widespread issues in the region at that time. While CAYLUS remains focussed on preventing sniffing, we also work to reduce the impact of other substance misuse by reducing their supply, harm, and demand across Central Australia.
This newly created, senior position will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of female-focussed remote initiatives, and other relevant activities, that support young people in remote communities.
The Women’s Program Coordinator will oversee the management, training and mentoring of specific CAYLUS Youth Workers, and lead the response to volatile substance use across the region, in close collaboration with CAYLUS Managers and other stakeholders.
The position will be based in Alice Springs but work across the CAYLUS service area, responding to volatile substance use, and supporting regional youth service providers to develop their capacity to deliver diverse and innovative youth development programs to young people of all ages and genders.
