About the TCT

Since 1968 the Tasmanian Conservation Trust has been protecting Tasmania's biodiversity, natural places and heritage. Some of our most prominent campaigns have been the establishment of the Mt Wellington Reserve, Stop the Super Trawler, helping to prevent the Tamar Valley Pulp Mill and taking a court case that in 2022 stopped the clearing of 1800 hectares of native forest at Ansons Bay.

About the role

The TCT has decided climate change will be its next major campaign after considering a wide range of other important conservation issues.

Our priority work is to reduce lutruita/Tasmania’s carbon emissions by increasing the State Government’s action in this area. This newly created position involves working in a small team, taking the lead implementing the TCT Climate Campaign Plan.

The position involves being the TCT’s primary advocate and public spokesperson on climate change, participating in government consultation processes, liaising with key stakeholders, engaging the community in our campaign and working with other TCT staff with regards to fundraising. The position also involves providing input into the review of TCT Climate Work Plan.
