The TFSVA serves as lutruwita/Tasmania’s new peak body for family and sexual violence services. Its primary purpose is to provide a coordinated and strategic response to family violence, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse within the state. The TFSVA aims to transform the culture and systems that perpetuate gender inequality and violence, striving to create a place where all people experience safety, dignity, and agency.
Following incorporation, the Alliance is seeking to appoint the inaugural CEO. Reporting to the Transitional Board, the CEO is responsible for establishing and leading this newly formed peak body. This role involves driving the TFSVA’s mission and providing strategic leadership to guide the development and implementation of the Alliance’s broader vision. This will require the development of foundational systems, as well as building collaborative networks across the sector. This role will represent the perspectives and experiences of victim-survivors and service providers, to influence policy and advocate for systemic reform. The CEO will also work to enhance sector capacity and cohesion through evidence-based practices and innovative approaches. With high-level managerial responsibility and a high level of independence, the CEO will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s formation, ensuring its sustainability, and delivering meaningful progress in addressing family and sexual violence in lutruwita/Tasmania.
It is the intention of the Alliance to seek registration with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission as a Public Benevolent Institution. Should this be approved, attractive salary packaging arrangements may be also accessed.

We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians and first peoples on the land on which we live, work and play in lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights. We acknowledge the impacts of colonisation and dispossession and the contemporary disadvantage experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We also acknowledge the devastating impacts of family and sexual violence and child removal in Aboriginal communities and recognise the power of truth telling and ongoing leadership by Aboriginal communities in addressing and preventing family and sexual violence.
