THE OPPORTUNITY
The Campaign Manager is responsible for executing the Tasmanian Greens’ strategy on election campaigns, including the upcoming Federal Election (to be held between August 2024 and June 2025).
The Campaign Manager works in a fast-paced environment to prepare and manage election campaigns. They set systems and processes, manage candidates, staff and volunteers, order and distribute materials, oversee fundraising, and ensure expenses remain within budget.
The Tasmanian Greens is committed to the wellbeing of candidates, staff and volunteers throughout election campaigns. The Campaign Manager is responsible for leading a positive campaign culture, which values and supports the physical and mental wellbeing of the Tasmanian Greens team.
The position requires adaptability, as well as good organisation, communication, conflict resolution skills and an understanding of campaign strategy.
The role is based in the Tasmanian Greens office in nipaluna/Hobart. Intrastate travel, after hours and weekend work will be required.
- Salary: $87,879.98 (pro rata)
- Start Date: August 2024
- Hours: 22.8 hours a week. 38 hours a week during the Federal Election period.

- Probation Period: 2 months

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support candidate preselection in conjunction with the Party Manager and Campaign Management Committee;
- Ensuring that candidates, staff and volunteers have the training, support and resources needed to ensure all elements of the campaign strategy are implemented;
- Supporting a positive campaign culture through good communication and conflict resolution which sees the campaign team well supported;
- Ordering and distributing materials to fulfill the campaign strategy;
- Management of the campaign budget and oversight of fundraising; and
- Collaborating with campaign staff, candidates, Greens MPs offices, branches, local groups and the Australian Greens to ensure all elements of the campaign plan are implemented.
- Undertake campaign related email, social media and other communications activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated experience in managing campaigns and working to campaign strategies, particularly election campaigns.
- Experience in managing a large, multi-faceted campaign with tight deadlines.
- Experience in managing staff and volunteers and collaboratively working with a large team.
- Experience in managing and tracking budgets, and managing fundraising.
- Knowledge and experience of best-practice voter contact techniques and the ability to train candidates, staff volunteers in those techniques.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Sensitivity to others needs in a high-pressure environment, and the ability to resolve conflict where necessary.
- Strong political acumen and commitment to Greens values.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in producing communications for a variety of audiences.
