The Basin Community House is located in Melbourne’s outer east at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges. The House plays an important role in connecting community members and is also recognised for its leadership and innovation in the delivery of pre accredited adult education through state funded Learn Local programs.

The House was relocated to a beautiful purpose-built building, which offers an array of both internal and outdoor resources and opportunities and is supported by a small team of part time staff and a strong volunteer program.

The committee of governance invites expressions of interest from passionate, suitably skilled and qualified applicants to lead the organisation. Applicants must have significant experience in managing or leading the delivery of Learn Local programs as well as demonstrated experience and commitment in working with community to provide a place of belonging and social connection.

Specific duties are described in the position description and include the key responsibilities of:

• Leading a team of paid and volunteer personnel
• Fostering a place where community members connect and belong
• Managing an extensive Learn Local program
• Financial oversight including budget preparation and management
• Management of all funding program and stake holder requirements
