At The Benevolent Society, we’ve been supporting people to live their life, their way, since 1813.
You’ll be joining the Brighter Futures team in Inverell. You’ll partner with a small number of at-risk families as you support the family to identify their strengths and needs. Our goal is to work alongside families to reduce the number of children entering the child protection space and to give families the tools they need for supportive and healthy family relationships.
You’re an experienced case manager, having worked with families, children and young people at the pointy end of child protection. You understand how to build relationships and gain trust with the adults, young people, and children you work alongside to optimise outcomes.
We also work with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, so you’ll need to be committed to culturally safe practice.
We know the work isn’t always easy. You know when to turn to the team around you for support and how important self-care really is.
How about flexibility in the way you work? Then there’s options to purchase up to 2 weeks of annual leave, access to long service leave after 5 years, paid parental leave, employee assistance program, discount fitness membership…
You’re going to need to be an experienced social worker or case manager with experience working in a role with at risk families either already in the child protection space or very close to it.
While we would love for you to have a degree, we also understand there’s many reasons why you might not have one. Experience can be very valuable and we’re happy to chat about how your experience aligns.
What’s most important is your amazing practice. You work within best practice theoretical frameworks you’re culturally safe, and you love what you do!
Call Jane Hynes 0420 959 392 for a confidential discussion.
Internally this role is called a Child & Family Practitioner
We welcome diversity in all its forms; applications from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged. We value relationships with our local Aboriginal community and welcome applications from its members.
We see ability not disability, if you identify as a person with a different ability please get in contact.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check or similar (where relevant to the role).
