The Co-operative Life Community Team is growing its client base and needs to increase its staff. We are setting up a panel of available and suitable staff to fill vacancies for Support Workers working with and supporting participants to achieve their NDIS plan goals in the Community.

THE ROLE

We are looking for experienced Support Workers to fill a variety of roles throughout the Sydney region. Shift times and locations will vary.

You will provide a range of support services, dependent upon the client's requirements.

You should be an empathetic and pragmatic thinker, practical and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

Our clients require Support Workers who will assist them to maintain and increase their independence by supporting them with domestic activities, social and community participation and transportation.

Essential requirements

  • Previous Support Worker experience – preferably in physical disabilities, Acquired Brain injuries and Psychosocial/Mental Health Disabilities.
  • Proof of 3 doses COVID19 Vaccination requirement
  • NDIS Worker Clearance

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience – in disability support
  • Proof of 3 doses COVID19 Vaccination requirement being met (including of the validation of the medical exemptions, if any) under the NSW Public Health Order
  • In-depth understanding of NDIS industry requirements
  • In-depth person-centred support experience
  • Empathy and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Must have a current valid NSW Australian Driver's Licence
  • Own a smart phone with Internet access.
  • Current NDIS Clearance (which replaced National Police Clearance)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Valid working rights within Australia

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated capacity to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously.
  • High level of stress resilience and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and use initiative.
  • Strong communication skills and active listening skills.
  • Common sense
