The Co-operative Life Community Team is growing its client base and needs to increase its staff. This is an opportunity to join The Co-operative Life supporting individuals living with disabilities, to lead meaningful lives.

We are now looking for Support Worker to cover supporting a female who is a wheelchair user in Croydon Park on Wednesdays 9am to 3pm.

*Looking for a female candidate as this is a part of the genuine on-job and client-driven requirement.

This position reports to a Lead Support Worker. Permanent part time/Casual.

SCHADS award periodic (hourly) pay rates and benefits are applicable for the right candidates.

Essential requirements:

• Previous Support Worker experience – preferably in physical disabilities, Acquired Brain injuries and Psychosocial/Mental Health Disabilities.
• Proof of 3 doses COVID19 Vaccination requirement
• NDIS Worker Clearance

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to cover supporting a female who is a wheelchair user in Croydon Park on Wednesdays.

You will provide a range of support services, dependent upon the client's requirements.

You should be an empathetic and pragmatic thinker, practical and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

Our clients require Support Workers who will assist them to maintain and increase their independence by supporting them with domestic activities, social and community participation and transportation.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience – in disability support
• Proof of 3 doses COVID19 Vaccination requirement being met (including of the validation of the medical exemptions, if any) under the NSW Public Health Order
• In-depth understanding of NDIS industry requirements
• In-depth person-centred support experience
• Empathy and the ability to build strong relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
• Must have a current valid NSW Australian Driver's Licence
• Own a smart phone with Internet access.
• Current NDIS Clearance (which replaced National Police Clearance)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Valid working rights within Australia
