The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is an international Christian organisation working towards the eradication of the causes and consequences of leprosy. We are a global network of organisations active in 34 countries around the world. We work in partnership with governments, local communities, health organisations, the World Health Organisation (WHO), local Government Organisations, Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), local churches, and many others to achieve our vision of “Leprosy Defeated. Lives Transformed".

A key function of our resourcing and fundraising activities is the sale of products and merchandise sourced globally from a network of artisans in developing countries through ethical Fair-Trade practices.

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a highly competent administrator to coordinate our inventory and logistics processes for a 12 month contract to achieve our goals of:

  • Providing an income and training for artisans living in poverty
  • Developing sustainable products that are good for the environment
  • Promote the work of the mission and generating funds for leprosy projects

Areas of focus

The role of the Inventory and Logistics Coordinator is to effectively manage the supply chain activities (including imports) to ensure the amount of inventory meets customer demand. Overseeing the relationship with the 3PL warehouse and other outsourced service providers they will provide excellent customer experience, and their excellent administration skills will ensure systems are kept up-to-date, communication flows to and from fulfilment house, as well as orders being placed and followed up to maintain appropriate inventory within budgets to meet customer demand.

Key Criteria of the role

Stock Management

  • Manage and oversee the purchase of all goods and services and ensure stock levels are efficiently managed
  • Management of all stock throughout the business, monitoring the stock management system, and liaising with the fulfilment house accordingly
  • Collaborate with the Buyer/Product Developer to forecast and allocate the correct level of inventory to best meet customer demand
  • Manage terms, service and goods-inwards standards with all suppliers and artisan groups and monitors their performance against SLAs and KPIs
  • Act as liaison on customer queries between Customer Service Department (in-house and outsourced) and the fulfilment house

Commercial Management

  • Manage various aspects administration (preparing budgets, invoice management, reconciling stock levels received versus invoices received, resolving inconsistencies, stock valuation reports, supplier credit control)
  • Works with Finance Team to oversee the audit of our stock purchasing, management, and invoice reconciliation
  • Management of third-party suppliers including warehouses, call centres, custom agents, couriers, and freight providers

You will possess

  • An understanding of and ability to operate within the Christian based beliefs and the vision, mission and values of TLMA
  • Minimum of 3 years proven ability in inventory management and purchasing
  • Undergraduate or higher qualifications in logistics or supply chain management
  • Proven negotiating skills and ability to manage external partners
  • Demonstrable experience in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, import and export activities
  • Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRMs)and experience with e-commerce platforms, e.g. Shopify, Magento, eBay and Amazon etc.
  • Positive mindset and a willingness to work collaboratively with others and receive feedback
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, with problem solving skills and a desire for continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work as part of a team, cross team and independently

The postholder must sign, be familiar with, and comply with all TLMA organisational policies, including the Safeguarding Code of Conduct, the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. All TLM staff are required to participate in mandatory safeguarding training.
