Thorne Harbour Health, Victoria’s largest LGBTIQ+ community-controlled health service is currently recruiting for a Team Leader to support delivery of our Trans and Gender Diverse Health Training Project and our broader LGBTIQ+ Training and Capacity Building program.
Thorne Harbour Health’s Trans and Gender Diverse in Community Health (TGDiCH) Training Project holds responsibility for the state-wide workforce skills and training program and is helping to create safe access to healthcare for trans and gender diverse people throughout Victoria. It is a TGD-led and evidence-based training project for health professionals wanting to increase their skills, knowledge, competence and confidence in working with this community.
The Team Leader will lead a transgender, gender diverse and non-binary affirmative practice training project for Thorne Harbour Health as part of the TGD in Community Health Consortium (TGDiCH). The TGDiCH team deliver a coordinated evidence-based state-wide training program, with a primary goal to improve TGD sensitivity, reduce stigma and discrimination, and build health sector capacity to meet the health needs of TGD Victorians. TGD community members play a key role in the co-design and co-delivery of all training in partnership with targeted health professionals with individual sector specific knowledge.
THH provides fee for service training to external health services seeking to build their capacity in the delivery of LGBTIQ+ culturally safe practices. The Team Leader will respond to training enquiries, prepare quotes and tailor bespoke training packages. They will also coordinate casual trainers, invoicing and post training evaluation.
