As a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation Group (THRF Group), THRF Group – Stroke and Parkinson’s are seeking a client centred Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Allied Health team.

THRF Group’s Allied Health team provide occupational therapy support to maximise choice, independence and wellbeing for people affected by Parkinson’s, Stroke or other neurological/movement disorders.

About the role

Reporting to the Allied Health Team Lead, key responsibilities include:

  • Provide Occupational Therapy (OT) assessments, interpret findings, formulate and implement OT intervention plans in collaboration with clients, primary support people and other clinicians.
  • Promote health and wellness solutions and support optimal mental and physical outcomes for all clients.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to team of OTs.
  • Increase awareness and understanding of the condition for people living with Parkinson’s, Stroke or another neurological/movement disorder, their family members, health professionals and the wider community.
  • Connecting with consumers, families, support coordinators to maximise client outcomes.

We're looking for individuals who possess:

  • Applicable tertiary qualification, current AHPRA Registration with a minimum 3 years’ post graduate experience.
  • Experience in the provision of clinical supervision.
  • Understanding of neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic, and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Ability to deliver sound advice and education in a comprehensive and professional manner.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with a flexible positive attitude.
