The Coastal Connector Program supports at-risk young people transitioning to high school, combining fun and learning in a meaningful, growth-focused environment. What We're Looking For (Required)

  • A passion for making a positive impact in the lives of young people
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young people
  • High Emotional Intelligence and a collaborative mindset
  • An openness to learning and growing alongside others
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to effectively manage group dynamics
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid certification
  • National Police Check (Or willing to obtain one)

What We're Looking For (Desirable)

  • Previous experience facilitating programs or workshops, particularly in community services, youth work, or sports coaching
  • Relevant life experience
  • Special skills/knowledge in gaming, fishing, sport or creative activities
  • Relevant qualifications in community services, youth work, social work, or a related field
  • Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid Driver's Licence

Your Role

As a Program Facilitator, you will guide young people through a variety of activities that combine fun, learning, and personal growth. You’ll have the chance to lead sessions in fishing, gaming, outdoor sports, creative workshops, and life skills training, creating experiences that are as rewarding for you as they are for the participants.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Facilitating group activities
  • Leading interactive sessions, including gaming, sports, fishing, and creative workshops
  • Supporting young people to develop skills like teamwork, leadership, resilience, and emotional regulation
  • Collaborating with facilitators and participants to co-design meaningful experiences
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants
  • Managing equipment and materials for each session, including setup and pack down
  • Encouraging reflective discussions to help participants connect their learning to real-life situations
  • Sharing feedback and ideas to improve program delivery
