The Neighbourhood Centre is a not for profit charitable organisation that supports the Bathurst community and beyond.

Since 1976, we enable people to come together to strengthen, participate, develop and celebrate our community.

Through our staff and strong and valuable volunteer base we provide programs, activities, and support groups, and access to information, facilities and meeting spaces through Bathurst and Oberon Neighbourhood Centres.

About the role

The Project Officer position supports The Neighbourhood Centre to develop and deliver activities that encourage connectedness, increasing social inclusion and equitable participation in society.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Community Services and minimum two years’ work experience
• National Police check
• Current Driver’s Licence

Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and implement activities
• Ability to solve problems as they arise and to anticipate future situations and ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner
• Demonstrated experience in organising information, interpreting and applying policy and procedures
• Demonstrated experience volunteering and volunteer management

• Ability to work as a part of a team
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to engage positively with people of all ages, experiences and backgrounds

• Sound information technology skills
