Transfolk of WA is a non-for-profit organisation that exists to support trans and gender diverse people in Western Australia, by providing support services, community spaces, advocacy, education and training, and events. We are a growing and dynamic organisation, seeking to continue to expand our services and reach to best serve our community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is committed to the organisational growth of Transfolk of WA and operationalisation of our core purpose to inform, empower, and advocate for trans and gender diverse people to be our inaugural CEO.
The inaugural CEO will be pioneering the position within Transfolk of WA, with significant input in shaping the role itself. The CEO will collaborate with the board in executing the strategic direction of Transfolk of WA, take a proactive approach to growing our service delivery, and focus on expanding our ability to deliver tangible benefits to the trans and gender diverse community in WA. As well as working with the board, the CEO will make decisions that align with the values of Transfolk of WA within delegated authority.
The CEO will work closely with staff to support the daily needs of the organisation and act as a representative for the organisation and the trans and gender diverse community. Supporting staff needs and working to ensure that our service delivery is meeting the needs of the community will be a central component of the role. The CEO will be a visible leader and an active organiser within Transfolk of WA and ensure staff safety, collaboration, and professional development.
The role will require some work out of regular office hours and may involve domestic travel for the purpose of representing Transfolk of WA at event and engagements with internal and external stakeholders from the community, community services sector, and government. The CEO will build strong relationships and engage earnestly with the community, sector, and government, as a representative of Transfolk of WA and the trans and gender diverse community.
The position is 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week). This can be spread flexibly across 5 days. The CEO will have access to a West Perth office location, and flexible working arrangements may be considered in collaboration with the Board.
