As a Clinical Development nurse or midwife, you would need to have a postgraduate Child and Family Health qualification; and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment or willingness to complete within 12-18 months of position commencement.

You would be working in a supportive learning environment scaffolded by a team of Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Educators (NSW equivalent to Clinical Development Nurse/Midwife) under the direction of the QEII Centre Manager through the Clinical Coordinator (AAC) for functional responsibilities and Director, Workforce Learning & Development for professional responsibilities.

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading as Tresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). Tresillian is now the largest early child and family health and parenting service in Australia, operating from four sites in metropolitan Sydney and numerous regional and rural sites supporting service provision to families across NSW, VIC and ACT.

Applicants are to please address the Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria for Level 2

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Postgraduate / post registration qualifications in Child and Family Health with a minimum of 3 years full time experience working in the specialty.
  • Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching and facilitation including the demonstrated knowledge and use of adult learning principles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own professional development and of others.
  • Minimum Certificate IV Training and Assessment or willingness to complete within 12-18 months of position commencement.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to evidence-based practice and ability to apply this to education practice.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  • Able to demonstrate competency in Microsoft office and computer technology relevant to the role.

Prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:

  • Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
  • Comply with ACT Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination clinical procedure.
  • Provide evidence of 3 COVID-19 vaccinations or an approved exemption before commencement of employment.
