About the role

As a nurse or midwife, you would need to have a postgraduate Child and Family Health qualification or be prepared to work towards a CFH qualification. If you are currently a Level 2 nurse or midwife working in paediatrics or midwifery, you will be considered for a Level 2 nurse or midwife with Tresillian on a case-by-case basis.

You would be working in a supportive learning environment scaffolded by a Team Nursing/Midwifery Model in the residential service; and/or working autonomously with mentoring and educational support in the day services, within a multidisciplinary team.

The Royal Society for the Welfare of Mothers and Babies, trading as Tresillian, was formed in 1918 to coordinate early child and maternal health care services in New South Wales (NSW). Tresillian is now the largest early child and family health and parenting service in Australia, operating from four sites in metropolitan Sydney and numerous regional and rural sites supporting service provision to families across NSW, VIC and ACT.

Applicants are to please address the Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria for Level 2

  1. Current registration as a Registered Midwife/Nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia with postgraduate /post registration qualifications in Child and Family Health (C&FH)
  2. Relevant post-registration qualifications in addition to C&FH qualifications and at least twelve months experience working in the relevant clinical area of their post registration qualification,

Or

  1. Four years post-graduation experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in the assessment of physical, emotional and psychological family needs, and the subsequent planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions, with a strong focus on working in partnership with clients
  3. Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with clients, families and colleagues, based on recognition of team priorities, with ability to explore a range of solutions to problems within the context of primary health care in a multidisciplinary setting
  4. Demonstrated commitment to the provision of evidence-based nursing practice and good literacy in the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards in clinical practice
  5. Demonstrated leadership in or contribution to changes to clinical practices including process redesign and monitoring
  6. Current NSW Drivers Licence Class C.

Part time applicants’ length of service will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

Prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:

  • Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check
  • Comply with ACT Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination clinical procedure
  • Provide evidence of 3 COVID-19 vaccinations or an approved exemption before commencement of employment
